Davidson County Local Food Network Impact Report
At the Davidson County Local Food Network, our mission is to connect community members with fresh, locally grown food while supporting sustainable farming practices and strengthening our local food economy. Throughout 2025, we continued expanding our reach through food access programs, educational outreach, and community events that brought farmers, families, and organizations together around local food.
Supporting Local Farmers
Through our network, 17 participating farms gained access to expanded market opportunities through food access programs, retail sales, and wholesale partnerships. These initiatives generated more than $150,000 in combined farmer income, helping small and mid-sized farms remain sustainable while strengthening the regional food system.
In addition to supporting participating farms, DCLFN assisted more than 20 producers and supported 44 farmers and stakeholders through educational programming, outreach efforts, and collaborative partnerships focused on local agriculture and food access.
Providing Fresh, Healthy Food
We remain committed to increasing access to fresh, nutritious, locally grown food across Davidson County and surrounding communities. In 2025, our food access programs distributed 795 food boxes through 13 distribution sites and community partners, helping connect families, seniors, and underserved populations with healthy local food options.
Our retail and wholesale initiatives also continued to expand the availability of local food products while creating new opportunities for consumers to support local farms directly.
Our Impact in Action Through Community Events
Community engagement continues to be one of the driving forces behind our work. Throughout the year, DCLFN hosted and participated in more than 20 educational events and activities focused on local food, agriculture, sustainability, and community wellness.
These events reached more than 430 consumers and created opportunities for families, farmers, and community members to learn about local agriculture firsthand. One of the highlights of the year was our annual farm tour, which welcomed 215 attendees and provided hands-on experiences that strengthened the connection between consumers and local farms.
From outreach events and workshops to community partnerships and educational programming, these experiences continue to build awareness around the importance of supporting local food systems while creating meaningful connections throughout the community.
Impact on Sustainability
Our focus on sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship continues to guide our work. By supporting local farms, reducing food transportation distances, and encouraging responsible farming practices, we are helping build a stronger and more resilient food system for future generations.
Through collaboration with nonprofits, healthcare organizations, food access partners, and local producers, DCLFN continues to promote a community-centered approach to food access and sustainability.
Building Community Partnerships
Collaboration remains at the heart of our mission. In 2025, DCLFN worked alongside numerous community organizations, food access partners, healthcare providers, and nonprofit agencies to expand local food access and educational opportunities throughout the region.
These partnerships allow us to connect more people with fresh, local food while supporting the farmers and producers who make that work possible.
Looking Ahead
As we move forward, Davidson County Local Food Network remains committed to growing our impact through expanded food access programs, increased educational outreach, stronger community partnerships, and continued support for local farmers and producers.
Together, we are building a stronger local food system that supports our economy, improves community health, and connects people more closely to the farms and food that sustain our region.
