Davidson County offers a wide range of hands-on agricultural and food education workshops throughout the year through the NC Cooperative Extension and local partners. These programs include gardening classes, food preservation workshops like canning and seasonal food safety training, livestock and small farm production courses, and community-based education events designed to support both beginning and experienced growers. Many of these workshops are held at the Davidson County Agricultural Center in Lexington and are open to the public, helping residents build practical skills around growing, preparing, and preserving food. In addition to ongoing classes, Davidson County also hosts seasonal and special-topic workshops that strengthen local food knowledge and connect the community more deeply to the region’s agricultural system.
