DC Ext., Master Gardener Garden Tour

Davidson County Master Gardener, Garden Tour

The Extension MASTER GARDENER Volunteers of Davidson County are inviting the community to experience an “Open Garden “ event at the demonstration gardens surrounding the Cooperative Extension Center on Saturday, April 12, from 10 am to noon.

The gardens will be open for touring and Extension MASTER GARDENER Volunteers will be on hand to answer gardening and plant questions. Volunteers will also be sharing some plants from the garden with those who attend. Who doesn't like FREE PLANTS??

The Davidson County Cooperative Extension Center is located at 301 E. Center St. beside the CVS Pharmacy in Lexington. Parking is available at the back of the building off Church St.

The MASTER GARDENER Volunteers started the gardens that surround the building almost 20 years ago. They have continued to develop the gardens over the years for the purpose of demonstrating plants that grow well in Davidson County under a variety of conditions such as drought, full sun, shade, as well as in ground and in planters. More recently there has been an emphasis on planting native plants that are attractive to pollinators.

The “Open Garden” event is FREE and the public is welcome to stroll through the gardens, get questions answered, and choose a FREE plant from among several the group will be sharing.

For questions about the event, contact the Extension office at 336-242-2091.
