Dr. Heather Glennon has been raising goats since she was seven years old and started in the 4-H program in Florida. She raised dairy goats for about 20 years as she moved from Florida to Maryland to Pennsylvania. She received her B.S. Degree from Delaware Valley College and then spent four years as a 4-H/Livestock Extension Agent in PA. Dr. Glennon received her M.S. Degree in Animal Science and PhD in Crop Science from NCSU while working as the Research Specialist for the Meat Goat and Forage Program. At NCSU, she conducted mul ple grazing and parasite control trials with meat goats under Dr. Luginbuhl. She currently has about 50 commercial meat does (Boer x Kiko cross). Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Animal Science at the University of Mount Olive helping to develop a pastured livestock unit.
